Listen to your body

Q: I have been using Resperate for more than 10 years with good results. Just recently I have been noticing that my results are not as good as they use to be and I wake up in the morning with a headache. I am also chilled all the time, when it gets below 75. Can this be related to high blood pressure? Are these problems related to an out of balance thyroid?
A: Listen to your body. Something is wrong and needs to be evaluated by a physician. Thyroid disease is a possibility but so is cancer and/or other health issues. It is unlikely your symptoms are caused by just the change in your blood pressure.

Q: Can thyroid medication, some BP medications, or aerobic exercise raise your BP?
A: Typically blood pressure goes up with any form of exercise. With aerobic exercise the body needs more oxygen because large muscles are being used. The heart beats faster and systolic blood pressure increases progressively. Diastolic pressure stays about the same. Adverse reactions to drugs and over medication can result in blood pressure that is elevated or too low.
