I increased my medication doses without talking to my doctor, is this okay?

Q: My doctor prescribed me 10 mg of Lisinopril but I’ve been taking 40mg instead. I have also been feeling very tired and out of breath. Could the higher dosage be the reason?
A: Changing your blood pressure medication without consulting your physician is not smart. The higher dose of medication may be causing your symptoms. You need to see your doctor.
