Lisinipril, Advil PM, Tylenol PM

Q: On occasion (no more than 3x weekly) I take Advil PM to relieve a sore hip. I am on lisinipril for high blood pressure control. Is Advil PM okay on a regular basis or should I switch to Tylenol PM?

A: Both medications have side effects, especially when used on a regular basis. You need to ask your doctor which medication is best for you. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications such as Advil can elevate blood pressure so it is important to make sure your blood pressure remains in control while on this drug.
