Can taking hydrocodone elevate my blood pressure?

Written by: Dr. Rowena | Posted: Jan 28 2008

Q: Can taking Hydrocodone one to three times a day cause your blood pressure to be high?

A: Hydrocodone is known to cause elevated blood pressure. However, when used on a short term basis to alleviate acute pain, this usually isn’t a problem. You should let your doctor know your blood pressure has increased on this medication.
