Can the use of eye drops for glaucoma cause high blood pressure?
Written by: Dr. Rowena | Posted: Sep 04 2007
Q: I have creatinine and also use 2 types of eye drops for glaucoma. Is it possible that my kidneys and/or the eye drops contribute to my high BP?
A: It is possible that both your kidney problems and your glaucoma are contributing to your high blood pressure. A doctor has to balance the benefits of treating a disease against the possibility of worsening another condition you might have. Untreated glaucoma can lead to blindness. I am sure your doctor took your kidney function and blood pressure into consideration when choosing your glaucoma medications.
